 Meet the Opal Team

Co-Founder of Opal Aesthetics | Kori Borneman | Skincare Treatments Near Me

Kori Borneman

Co-Founder | Aesthetic Injector | MSN, APRN, FNP-C

I am the Co-Founder and Lead Aesthetic Injector of Opal Aesthetics.  I am so thrilled to be able to offer premium Opal Aesthetics services to the people of Johns Island, Kiawah, and Charleston.

I’ve been a nurse practitioner for seven years and made the decision to move into the aesthetics industry early in 2022. For the last three years, I’ve been dedicated to the world of aesthetics with countless trainings, conferences, and multiple cadaver courses to continue to increase my knowledge of anatomy and safety. My passion for the aesthetic industry has spanned over a decade, beginning with my very first job out of college at a skincare startup company.

I believe that the advancements in aesthetics allow people the ability to enhance their aging experience instead of being hindered by it. I love the education piece. I am always talking to my friends and family about all the exciting technology and innovations we now have at our fingertips.

In my opinion, the name of the game is prevention. I practice this with my lifestyle through a healthy diet, regular exercise, and a dedication to medical-grade skincare. My favorite regimen for both me and my patients is having a SPF, Vitamin C and Retinoid treatment that you love and using them every day!

In terms of skincare, my two must-have products are the AlphaRet Clearing Serum by Skinbetter and sunbetter Tone Smart SPF 75 Sunscreen Lotion. I love it because of the consistency and how it automatically adapts to your specific skin tone. It’s basically your tinted foundation plus SPF.

As for aesthetics, I believe ‘tox, collagen stimulators such as Sculptra and Radiesse, and Platelet Derived Growth Factors (PDGF) are the ticket to keep that rested, youthful look. If you haven’t tried our MOXI laser, it's the queen of skin resurfacing and pigment correction. And, if you need a quick confidence boost, there’s nothing like a good lip filler treatment.

With my patients, I focus on natural results by assessing the face as a whole and not just treating one area. Global facial treatments are how we obtain the more natural result we all want!

In addition to my role at Opal, I’m also wife to my wonderful husband, Nick, mother to Max, dog Rutledge, and a little girl soon to arrive this May!

When we got the opportunity to open Opal, I wanted the brand to reflect our values as well as the beauty of the Lowcountry. I also knew it would have to be a best-in-industry experience, and I am confident that it is. I’m honored to have been nominated for Best Aesthetic Injector in Charleston in 2025 and I’m so proud of the team we’ve built here at Opal!

Audrey Bradham

Co-Founder | Chief Operating Officer

I am the Co-Founder and COO of Opal Aesthetics. I began my career in marketing/sales, investor relations and private risk management. Although my business experience with aesthetics began in 2021, my passion for the industry has spanned over a decade, beginning with my very first job out of college at a skincare startup company.

I believe that the advancements in aesthetics allow people the ability to enhance their aging experience instead of being hindered by it. I love the education piece. I am always talking to my friends and family about all the exciting technology and innovations we now have at our fingertips.

In terms of skincare, SkinPen is my favorite resurfacing treatment. Microneedling with this little device improves skin tone and texture, and turns back the hands of time. Especially here in Charleston, reversing that sun damage is so important. The cherry on top is that it won’t break the bank! My two must-have products are the AlphaRet Clearing Serum by Skinbetter and sunbetter Tone Smart SPF 75 Sunscreen Lotion. I love it because of the consistency and how it automatically adapts to your specific skin tone. It’s basically your tinted foundation plus SPF.

When we got the opportunity to open Opal, I wanted the brand to reflect our values as well as the beauty of the Lowcountry. I also knew it would have to be a best-in-industry experience, and I am confident that it is. Book today to learn for yourself what sets Opal apart from the competition!

Sarah Roe, Aesthetic Injector, APRN, FNP-C, Opal Aesthetics

Sarah Roe

Aesthetic Injector | MSN, APRN, FNP-C

I'm so honored to be part of the amazing team of women at Opal Aesthetics! I've been an RN for 16 years (med-surg and neonatal ICU) and first began my career as a nurse practitioner in aesthetics over six years ago after graduating with a Master’s degree in nursing from University of South Carolina. I'm married to a wonderful man, Jimmy, and together we have the sweetest and silliest toddler, Silas, as well as two rescue pitties, Finnick and Mags.

Aesthetic medicine is my true calling — my dream job. I get to use my artistic eye and nerdy knowledge of human anatomy together to create beautiful, natural outcomes that celebrate each patient's natural beauty and individuality. It's not about vanity, it's about confidence and looking like the best version of yourself. Negative self-talk runs for the hills when you are glowing from within!

In my opinion, the best work should be nearly undetectable in most cases, which is where our motto, "overjoyed, not overdone" comes from. In recent years my focus has been shifting slightly, from simply re-volumizing the signs of aging away with hyaluronic acid fillers to a more skin-forward approach of also rebuilding the collagen and elastin in the skin with injectables like Hyperdilute Radiesse and Sculptra, laser and light treatments like MOXI and BBL HEROic, and at-home skincare and reapplication of SPF. Dermal fillers are amazing for more instant gratification in the right candidates, and l love facial balancing with fillers! ‘Tox is a given, I simply cannot go without it. Growth factor injections like Ariessence PDGF+ have impressed me tremendously, and I can see this service continuing to grow and blossom in so many ways.

As for skincare, I live by the ABCs. "A" for Vitamin A (a retinol, retinoid, or non-retinoid alternative), "B" for broad spectrum SPF (preferably with zinc oxide), and "C" for vitamin C (an antioxidant serum). These three product types are the foundation of every anti-aging routine, and there is one for every unique patient's skin type.

If you're ready to add a step or have a particular concern, my #1 recommendations are a pigment inhibitor and/or a redness reducer. Like many of my patients, I struggle with rosacea, melasma, and acne-prone skin. Personally, I’ve been loving Hydrinity Vivid Brightening Serum for my pigment inhibitor. For redness, rosacea, enlarged pores, or stressed/inflamed skin? You've got to have skinbetter Mystro Active Balance Serum in your life – it has me in a total chokehold and my pores have never looked smaller. I'm also happy to recommend drugstore products when budget is a concern, so it's easier to afford these investment-type products.

I truly enjoy building authentic relationships with my patients, and many have stayed with me through all my 6 years in the industry! I have laughed, cried, and cheered with my patients through all kinds of highs and lows, in their lives, and on my own. Ultimately, the most important thing is that my patients love how they look and that they still look like themselves! You absolutely do not need to change the way you look, but a tweak here or there might be just the thing to help you look and feel your best. A quote I love from Oscar Wilde, "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance". Schedule a consultation with me today, I would love to meet you!

Opal Aesthetics Lauren Lewis | Medspa Charleston SC

Lauren Lewis

Aesthetic Injector | MSN, APRN, FNP-C

I am so thrilled to be with the Opal Aesthetics team after extensive experience for the last four years in Charleston with neuromodulators, dermal fillers, microneedling, lasers, and peels.

My favorite injectables are neuromodulators (aka ‘tox). When I look at photos of myself from five years ago, I look 10 years younger today than I did then! It’s all due to softening the strong facial muscles that contribute to wrinkles, combined with good skincare. I also recommend microneedling once a year to keep skin tight and glowing.

As for my favorite skincare, I have two: 1) Elta MD tinted sunscreen - I wear this instead of foundation daily. I didn’t start wearing sunscreen until I was 30 and my skin looks better now than it did years ago; 2) ZO Growth Factor Eye Serum. I have hereditary thin, crepey skin under my eyes and have seen such a difference in its texture with the use of this serum in combination with Botox.

I have had some patients for almost five years because I listen to their desires and strive to keep them looking and feeling their best. Book with me today and experience the confidence they feel.

Tabitha Mooney

Patient Concierge Coordinator

I’ve been working in the aesthetics industry for almost four years, and I truly love what I do. My experience spans both medspa and plastic surgery settings, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of treatments and the client experience from every angle.

Helping people feel confident in their own skin is what inspires me most. There’s nothing more rewarding than being part of someone’s aesthetic journey. I’m passionate about staying up to date on the latest treatments and products, building strong relationships with clients, and creating a welcoming space where everyone feels cared for and understood.

To me, Opal Aesthetics is synonymous with enhancing natural beauty in a way that feels authentic and refined. I believe less is more. Beauty should make you feel refreshed and confident, like the best version of yourself.
If I had to recommend one treatment, it would be microneedling. I’ve seen incredible results, both personally and with clients. It’s amazing for improving texture and restoring that healthy glow—it’s one of those treatments that truly delivers. I’m a huge fan of ZO Skin Health. Two products I can’t live without are the Complexion Renewal Pads for fresh, balanced skin and the Exfoliating Polish, which leaves my skin smooth and radiant every time.

Outside of work, I’m a coffee enthusiast! My go-to spot is Charleston Coffee Exchange in West Ashley, and I’m obsessed with their cinnamon roll latte with brown sugar and white chocolate. One fun fact about me? I’m half Irish and half Puerto Rican, and Latin food is a big part of my life and family traditions.

I’m thrilled to be part of such an uplifting, supportive team. Working alongside passionate, knowledgeable women is so inspiring, and I can’t wait to learn and grow while helping our clients feel amazing in their own skin.
